Vesak is a religious and a cultural festival celebrated by Buddhists all around the world including Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan Buddhists celebrate the day in which the Bodhisattva prince was born and attained enlightenment and became the Lord Buddha. This is also the day in which he passed away after preaching his doctrine to the world. This is the day when the savior of the Buddhists was born into this world, and the Buddhists celebrate this “Vesak Festival” on the full moon day of month of May with everlasting joy.
